PRIVACY
Effective: April 24, 2026 · Sacramento, California
1 — Who Runs This Site
This site is operated by Conor Dobbs, doing business as The Sound Method, sole proprietor, Sacramento, California. Reach me at hello@thesoundmethod.me for any privacy-related questions or requests.
2 — What I Collect
Information you give me directly: name, email, message contents, and any project details you submit through the contact form. If you become a paying client, this includes billing name, address, and project-specific data needed to deliver the work.
Information collected automatically when you visit: standard server logs (IP address, user agent, page accessed, timestamp), and a small number of functional cookies including tsm_ref — a 60-day referral attribution cookie set when you arrive via a partner referral link.
Information I do not see: your full credit card number, CVV, or bank account details. Payment data is handled directly by Stripe — I receive only enough to confirm payment (last 4 digits, brand, billing name).
3 — Why I Collect It
- · To respond to your contact-form inquiry and deliver the services you hire me to provide.
- · To process payments (via Stripe).
- · To understand how the site is used, via privacy-respecting first-party analytics (PostHog).
- · To attribute referrals to the partner who sent you, so they receive their bounty.
- · To keep the site running, prevent abuse, and improve performance.
4 — Who Else Sees It
I share data with the following service providers, only as needed for them to do their part of the job:
- · Stripe — payment processing. stripe.com/privacy
- · Cloudflare — hosting and edge network. cloudflare.com/privacy
- · Resend — transactional email (contact-form delivery + purchase receipts). resend.com/privacy
- · PostHog — privacy-respecting first-party product analytics (honors Do Not Track). posthog.com/privacy
I do not sell your data. I do not share it with advertisers or marketers. If a client project requires me to share data with a third party (e.g. you ask me to integrate your site with a CRM), I will only do so on your instruction and for that specific purpose.
5 — Cookies
This site uses a small number of cookies — functional plus first-party analytics. No advertising or cross-site ad tracking:
- ·
tsm_ref/tsm_utm— store the referral slug / first-touch UTM source for 60 days, so referrals get credit and I can see which channel sent you. Clear them in your browser settings anytime. - · PostHog analytics cookies — first-party product analytics to understand how the site is used. Honors your browser's Do Not Track setting.
- · Cookies set by Stripe during checkout (governed by its privacy policy).
6 — Your Rights
If you live in California (CCPA / CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information I have collected about you, to request its deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of any sale or sharing (I do not sell or share data, so opt-out is the default). To exercise any of these rights, email hello@thesoundmethod.me. I will respond within 45 days.
If you live in the EU / UK (GDPR): you have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to processing. Same email address; same timeline.
7 — Children
This site is not directed at anyone under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through this site, please email me and I will delete it.
8 — Data Retention
I keep contact-form submissions and client project data for as long as the working relationship is active, plus a reasonable period afterward (typically up to 7 years for tax and legal records). Server logs are kept for up to 90 days. Stripe retains payment records on its own schedule. You can request deletion of data I directly hold by emailing me.
9 — Security
I take reasonable measures to protect data in transit (TLS / HTTPS) and at rest (provider-managed encryption with Stripe and Cloudflare). No system is completely secure. If a breach affects you, I will notify you in accordance with applicable law.
10 — Changes to This Policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of the page reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be communicated through the site and, where appropriate, by email to active clients.
